What is BPMN?

Business process management notation (bpmn) is a specification.

There are different frameworks are implemented bpmn specification like

What is it main purpose?

1)Bpmn is graphical representation for specifying business process.

2)The capability of defining and understanding their internal and external business procedures through a Business Process Diagram.

3)Bpmn include the business analysts who create and refine the processes, the technical developers responsible for implementing them, and the business managers who monitor and manage them. 

4) BPMN serves as a common language, bridging the communication gap that frequently occurs between business process design and implementation.

What is activity BPMN?

1. Activiti is a BPMN 2.0 process-engine framework that implements the BPMN 2.0 specification

Activiti provides an open source framework to design, implement, and run processes.

Components of Activity Bpmn:

Activiti Engine :
The core component of the Activiti tool stack that performs the process engine functions,
such as executing BPMN 2.0 business processes and creating workflow tasks.

Activiti Modeler :
A web-based modeling environment for creating BPMN 2.0-compliant business process
diagrams.

Activiti Designer:
 An Eclipse plugin that can be used to design BPMN 2.0-compliant business processes
with the addition of Activiti extensions, such as a Java service task and execution
listeners. 

Activiti Explorer :
A web application that can be used for a wide range of functions in conjunction with
the Activiti Engine. You can, for example, start new process instances and get a list
of tasks assigned to you. In addition, you can perform simple process management
tasks, like deploying new processes and retrieving the process instance status.
using this we can test our process.

Activiti REST :
A web application that provides a REST interface on top of the Activiti Engine.
